Looks good, nowhere worth the premiumSogarth
I bought the Brenthaven expandable case about half a year ago, shortly after I had purchased a Sony Z-series laptop. I was looking for a good quality case to carry a $2,000 laptop, and reputation and fitting looked to point to this Brenthaven case. It looked good, and looked like it was a quality product.Key word is "looked."Fast forward to a few days ago. I'd been using the case for six months, and was fairly happy with it, and was using it to take my laptop to work. And then the shoulder strap clasp broke. The *metal* shoulder strap clasp broke. Leading, predictably, to a case falling onto the concrete sidewalk.Well, this Brenthaven case has the High Density Foam protection system, right? Everything should be fine, right?Not so much.I now had a dented laptop, a damaged Brenthaven case, and a broken shoulder strap on my hands. Contact Brenthaven, and they'll make good on it, right?If only.They're sending me a replacement shoulder strap and an apology, the minimum required by their warranty.Here I'd bought what is generally viewed as a premium product by a premium brand, expecting to be have a good experience. Instead, I end up with a broken product that caused further damage. I've bought plenty of laptop bags, and not even my bags with *plastic* shoulder strap clasps have ever broken, even when carrying heavier loads.My advice? Get something from somebody else. Something that won't just look good but fail in its basic goal.
Excellent case, great quality and multi-purpose: for routine and travel useAl Gator
The case is really great quality, one of the first decent-quality bags I've purchased in a long time. The expandable feature is actually more handy than I would have expected. I purchased this to replace a routine bag I used to travel to and from work and between meetings. I used the Solo B64-4 SOLO Classic Collection Rolling Laptop Overnighter, Check-Fast Airport Security-Friendly Case Holds Notebook Computer up to 15.6 Inches, Black, B64-4 for overnight or day-travel business trips and also as a second bag on longer trips (see my review there for more info). This bag is well worth the price, as it has almost replaced both bags. I have been able to stuff almost everything I would have normally put into the overnighter into this bag. I carry all of my cables in the Victorinox case here Victorinox Travel Power Strip,Black,One Size and I can insert that into the center of this bag along with my files (quite a bit, about 1.5" worth), some magazines, my netbook ASUS Eee PC 1215B-PU17-BK 12.1-Inch Netbook (Black) and my tablet ASUS Transformer TF300 T-B1-BL 10.1-Inch 32 GB Tablet (Blue). A better light bag for my Macbook Pro retina 15Carl Howe
I had previously had a 1 pound Incase bag in which I kept my 15-inch Macbook Pro retina, but the zippers eventually failed along with the strap. It was with some trepidation that I ordered the Brenthaven 2159 Light at 1.5 pounds, but I've discovered I got a lot for that extra half pound. Unlike the Incase where I just had one outside pocket and an inside ipad area, I now have two outside pockets as well as an inside storage area, plus I now have a zipper to expand the case volume in those cases when I have more stuff to cram in. This case more easily fits the chargers and adapters I need to carry with me on business trips than my old case did.I know a review is here that criticizes the strap that comes with the case, and I had a similar strap fail dramatically on the Incase, putting a nice little dent in my laptop. I solved that problem by transferring over my replacement Klein 58889 Padded Adjustable Shoulder Strap, also purchased through Amazon. While it has directional clips instead of omnidirectional ones, it seems less likely to have one of the clips "pull through" its retaining piece and thereby fail. So far, it has served most of a year without problem, whereas the original Incase strap failed within the first month.Regardless, I'm sold on the Brenthaven ProStyle Lite bag; it's a keeper if you are looking for a less than two pound case for your four-pound laptop.

I received my Brenthaven in a timely fashion. There is a pouch for everything you need. My Macbook Pro 15" fits like a baby with soft fur petting it inside. There's space for my iPad, mouse, power supply, pens, my iPhone and even my external cd drive. The only thing is I don't like is I think everything fits a little too snug. I would have like it if they had made it just a little wider but maybe I'm just pushing for perfection. That's why I gave it 4 stars. All in all it's made of high quality stuff and I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
