I love Lifeproof cases. I have one for my iPhone 5, which I have used mountain biking, running, and swimming. Important note: plastic can warp over time. Especially if you use your phone or tablet in the sun a lot, the plastic on the case can change shape slightly, which can affect the water-tight fit of the case. Make sure you follow the included instructions where it says to test that your case is water-proof every 3 months.This case is not a letdown. Feels well built, fits the iPad Air well, and makes me feel content to take it down on the beach or out to the pool and not worry about sand or rain.I do have some disappointments, however, hence the 4-star rating:1. The lock button is very hard to push once the Lifeproof case is on. This is annoying to me because I have it set to 15 minute screen delay, so I manually turn off the display when I'm done using it. The lock button is much easier to use on my Lifeproof-equipped phone.2. The power port is narrow, so if you are using a generic charging cord it may not fit, causing you to buy a different one or modify the existing one yourself (I use one because I wanted > 10' of charging length to use the iPad while charging and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for Apple's)3. The buttons are difficult to use. Yes, they function (if the case is installed correctly), but if you use the volume buttons a lot, you will likely be disappointed.4. There is NO STAND included. This is a feature I didn't realize I would badly miss until I didn't have it anymore.Read more ›

Already have a Lifeproof on my husband's iphone, so only made sense to get one for his iPad Air. They only recently made the ones available for the Air, so we had to wait awhile. Make sure when you are looking that you are getting the right thing for what you need. Looks like it'll hold up to some abuse just like his phone case has.

A lot of good points- Worst screen protector on the marketrathat76
I really wanted to like this case. In fact there are many part of it that I did like. It has a nize size and feel for a rugged case, not too bulky. And I really preferred the hard latching door for the charge prt to the floppy rubber versions of the competition. I also was keen on the integrated mute switch.However the things that I liked were far outweighed by the screen protector. I hated it, it is the worst I've ever seen. It started with the rainbow effect, being new to lifeproof I was unfamiliar. I did a search and saw the internet filled with complaints about this as well as tips to remedy. I tried a few but nothing really helped for long. While in the midst of dealing with the rainbow effect I noticed that when I had the tablet indoors in my office there was a terrible glare. So bad that the screen was difficult to see at many angles. Even if I managed to eliminate the rings, the glare sealed the deal. I spend some time outside with my ipad, but a lot of my time inside as well. This just wasn't going to work with that screen protector, and I wasn't going to rip it out of a $100+ ipad case. If the nuud for the ipad air were available on amazon today id get it and use it with a screen skin.Out of all ive purchased on Amazon, this is the first thing Ive actually returned. Thank you Amazon for the customer service.

Works we'll and gives you peace of mind if your iPad will see rough service. I use mine in a shop with oils and so forth and this is an excellent case. The step down rating relates to the lack of a decent working screen cover.

Writing on my ipad right now. This is a great case, small and light, but durable enough to trust my granddaughter with it. I just wish it came in colors, would be so much more fun!
