I have been a business traveler for over a decade. I owned many different laptops and many different bags to carry them around. I recently got the STM impulse backpack and I love it!!!The backpack I had before it was a good backpack by Ogio which I liked a lot. It had room for everything I needed and some nice features. Well, the Impulse blows it out of the water. it is significantly slimmer and more solid than the Ogio bag, while it still has room for all my stuff (and I carry a lot of stuff with me when I travel). it also keeps my computer and iPad safe with a dedicated padded section for each.Bottom line - this is a fantastic bag, that is functional and looks trendy, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to carry a laptop and/or iPad with some accessories and documents.

Slim backpack with good room for 15" laptop. Not a ton of other pocket space when laptop in the backpack but I wasn't looking for that. Like the smaller pocket on front and hangs well over one arm.

Last week I received and had to send back the above backpack to Amazon. It was bowed and appears to have been that way when bagged at STM packing since it was a STM plastic bag rolled TIGHT. There must be some type of fiber board as a backer in the back of the pack. You could feel the crack/break in the board behind the luggage pass-through. It would not straighten enough for the backpack to be usable for me. The curve popped right back in as soon as you pulled the laptop out.On a laptop backpack designed, built and priced in this range WHY use fiber board that cracks/breaks? Use nylon or some newer material that will hold or reshape consistently. I like the idea of something to back and protect the computer area but not something that breaks.Amazon is sending me another one and I have to say I am a little concerned since none of the reviews or pictures of this pack show it other than straight but now I know it can "break".On the plus side I am happy to see packs that appear to be designed by people who understand not one size fits all and stretchy material should not be used to hold laptops and tablets. A fixed, padded, isolated area is the right way as in the Impluse design! The "Drifter" also looks interesting and was a tough choice to decide between. On the "Drifter" I like the additional organizational pockets, lashing loops and the compression straps. Most all laptop backpacks should have the "Integrated luggage pass through" secures the bag to the handle of your wheeled luggage and two or three lashing loops on back and/or sides to hold flashlight, keys, carabiners, etc. Those shallow stretchy "water bottle pockets" are general worthless after a couple weeks use. Build them to hold a water bottle or do like STM did here and leave them off.

Very good bag. Not too spacious but good. I've managed to fit in a 15'' laptop, 10'' tablet, cables, mouse, headphones and a slim lunch box and it was pretty much at its full capacity.

I am a huge fan of STM based on my initial purchase of their medium should bag almost three years ago. In fact the only reason, I was in the market for a new back was the fact that my other one was stolen. Upon ordering this bag, I did end up returning it BUT only because it was bigger than I anticipated. That being said, if I didn't carry a MacBook Air, I would easily have kept it. The laptop sleeve and iPad slot are perfect for quick access and safe storage. The bag is light weight and I love the fact that it slides on to your suitcase for easy airport travel. You can't go wrong with STM!

I've never been a fan of back packs but I needed something more convenient for my stuff. After reading reviews i decided on this one. It's awesome. Comfortable to wear and looks nice. Its compact but thought out very well. I think anyone looking for a non bulky easy to handle way of carrying there stuff will love it.Things i carry in it: 13" Macbook Retina (since the bag is for a 15, I can fit case and macbook in backpack) Gen 2 Ipad PsVita (in carry case) GoPro (in Smatree case w/ extra batteries) Cell Phone Spiral notebook Pens and all chargering cables.Bag still holds its shape and none of the zippers are stretched tight. There's room for other things but not a whole lot before it would become troubling to get things in and out.

I made an aesthetic decision to dump my old messenger bag (the "computer purse") in favor of a backpack.Functionally, I think it's a great backpack for carrying my laptop and charger and related accessories. There are layers of pockets, and you can find a place to organize numerous items. This bag is fairly thin and purposely lightweight, you definitely would not want to load it down with thick college textbooks, or use the backpack as makeshift luggage for clothing. It's pretty much designed for your laptop or tablet.I can't comment on long-term durability, since I've only owned it for a couple of months. The construction and materials seem solid. Again, this bag wasn't meant to be loaded down with books but rather thin electronic devices, so there shouldn't be any incredibly stress on the backpack that would cause it to fall apart prematurely.I rated it 4 stars because I feel that the price is too high for what you get. There's nothing outstanding about this bag that truly justifies its cost. If I were to sell this backpack secondhand, it would probably be a hard sell to ask for more than a quarter of the original cost, even if it were mint. Still, I would recommend it, if it fits within your budget.
