Description

The TAB801 car or truck seat rail floor mount can be used with all large tablets 9 to 12 inches in screen size, including the Apple iPad Air and iPad 4, 3, and 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, and Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, Kindle Fire HD 8.9, Google Nexus 10, and Sony Xperia Tablet Z. This mount package includes Arkon’s Slim-Grip Universal Tablet Holder and Heavy-Duty Aluminum Seat Rail Mounting Pedestal with 22” Adjustable Arm. The tablet is held securely in place with the Slim-Grip spring-loaded tablet holder, and can be inserted or removed from the mount with one hand. Included with the holder are 8 support legs (4 short and 4 longer versions). The top and bottom adjustable-leg design of the holder helps keep any side buttons and ports unobstructed. For most devices, the best mount holder configuration is to attach 2 short support legs on top and the 2 long support legs on the bottom of the holder. The car seat rail or floor mount is made of strong aluminum, and is ideal for those who need easy access to their tablets but prefer mounting them somewhere other than the windshield or dashboard. Use a socket wrench to install the mount to the car’s seat rail. Loosen the passenger seat track bolt, insert the included seat track bolt bracket, and then retighten the bolt. Bend the 22” adjustable arm and rotate the swivel ball adapter head for 360-degree rotation for exact positioning of the tablet. Optional floor brackets are included for screwing the car dock directly into the floor of the vehicle. (Warning: Drilling into the vehicle’s floor may damage the vehicle. Use caution and consult a mobile install professional to avoid drilling into any sensitive vehicle components.)

Customer Reviews

3 out of 5 stars vibration at the tablet end of the structure
paul (ann arbor)

The product comes with three options (metal brackets) for mounting to the seat rail itself. For my application, the straightest of the three (shown as attached to the device in the pictures herein) was the easiest to install, but the elongated profile of this base resulted in excessive vibration at the tablet-end of the structure. To resolve this problem, the right-angle mount was substituted, and the hole for the armature attachment was re-drilled to be closer to the angled aspect of the bracket. This reduction in distances reduced flexion at the base, with subsequent reduced vibration at the tablet mount.Though we'd have less vibration, for the application, the angled bracket did not lend itself to being "bolted" as did the straight bracket. The seat was removed to facilitate welding of the bracket to the inner aspect of the medial seat rail. When the steel angle mount was bolted to the aluminum receiver (at the base of the structure), the aluminum receiver immediately stripped out. Modifications were made to the aluminum receiver to facilitate a standard bolt. Loctite was added before assembly on the suggestion of prior reviews. The device "jaws" are excessively long (at least one inch) which is considerable overkill for mounting something the thickness of the typical tablet. The option of shorter "jaws" would be nice. The device does provide for the device to sit high enough to appreciate GPS signal.total cost: about $70 for the mount and $122 to have it installed.vehicle: chevy impala 2008 SS with mount to passenger seat rail.tablets: samsung galaxy tab 7.7 (wi-fi, 3G, 4G, GPS) and an iPad 2 (wi-fi).

3 out of 5 stars Good for the price

This stand has held my tablet well, I've had it for almost a month now. I have had to do some of my own modifications to make it more sturdy in my truck, but there are a lot of rough roads around here, if it were all highway it would probably be okay as it was sent. The different brackets are helpful and I tried all three before making my decision. Overall no complaints, the product was exactly as described and went in with no problem.

4 out of 5 stars I like it!

Finally got it installed in my 2013 Ford Escape. Had to pry a cover off the seat rail to get to the bolt. Used it on a 6 hour drive over to Baltimore. Really easy to see and use. May do away with my Garmin!

It does shake a little when driving but its the best ive seen. The cradel could be built stronger, but all in all good.

Great product, easy to install, holds a tablet/GPS easily, firmly without to much wiggle, big enough that will fit in any car.
