Love this, I travel constantly all over the world to very remote areas. Major airlines, not so well known airlines, twotters, sotters, helicopters and utes( Aus. for pick up) in rain, snow, V high humidity, wet season, high heat, extreme cold and civil unrest. It is a relief to know that no matter what baggage handlers, offsiders, helpers?, throw at it the pelican case will make it through with my Ipad in tip top condition. Have had no issues as yet, in West Africa(dry and wet) or Papua New Guinea highlands. Still there is room for improvement, possibly fitting the Ipad in with a slim flap over cover would be handy. But not, too me an issue that really detracts from the unit. When trying to fit this and close the case up I did experience what I had read about in reviews, where the case does not seal correctly. Simple, don't do it. I have seen some reviews with serious negative reports, not my experience. Have been using Pelican cases and torches for years now and have found them to be an amazing product. It is my belief that used for their intended purpose in the prescribed manner you should have no issues.
Great iPad Case With Only a Minor IssueCharles Fenner
This is a great quality built case that fits my iPad 3 perfectly and securely. The iPad is held securely when closed with no rattling when shaken about. The iPad can be positioned at several different angles by moving the the back flap along the bottom of the insert. Both the flap and the insert are a type of a hook and loop material so positioning is a breeze even if you don't line up the flap with one of the ridges. The reason that I only gave it 4 stars if because of a wifi issue that I have with the case. The picture of the iPad mounted in the case angled up with the Pelican case opened all the way up laying flat on a table makes for a large foot print and the wifi signal strength is not hindered in this position. But the way that I use it is to close the lid to the back of the iPad so it looks like a triangle and that does hinder the wifi which is only noticeable when you are on the fringe of the wifi coverage like outside a coffee shop. I know that this is being picky but it is the truth and I wanted to share it.
Another Great Pelican CaseH9K90
This case replaced an OtterBox Defender for the iPad 3. Though I own several Otterbox products, the iPad Defender wasn't built well enough for my needs and made the iPad much heavier with a sometimes unresponsive touch screen. The Pelican I1065 iPad Case, in my opinion, is a much better option for my requirements. I own 6 Pelican cases which protect everything from camera equipment to professional instrumentation, they are durable and built to last. My iPad is readily available, well protected (water and dust proof), and should survive travel and associated rough handling. Nice design, with a great warranty.
