Choosing a case for the iPad is a daunting task. There must be a gazillion choices out there today. Since this is my first iPad, the first case I bought - which was a neoprene one that stank - I ended up throwing it out due to the horrible smell. But at least I knew I wanted a case that has minimal bulk but yet covers the entire device and protect it from scratches and minor bumps. And also, I wanted for leather this time. This case from Sena is probably the next slimmest in the market, right behind the microsuede slip from Waterfield Designs. The leather is a high quality full grain Nappa hide with a pebble emboss that reminded me of aniline leather sofas. The inside is lined with a microfiber type material which also makes it easy to slip the iPad in and out. I found the fit to be a little tight at first, but it was deliberately made like that as leather can stretch quite a bit after a break in period. Still the iPad comes in and out easily.I love this case and frankly I can't find any fault. Being this slim meant you'd have to sacrifice some bump and drop protection. The top of the ipad is exposed and lined up with the top of the case, so you gotta be careful there. Also one minor niggle I have is this: as the 2 leather halves are stitched together, you would have this lip of about 2mm all around. Sena chose to put this on the inside so that the outer profile looks slick. As a result, that seam would be rubbing against the aluminum of the iPad as you take if in and out. I would rather have that seam encased behind the microfiber lining. Only time will tell if the rub lines would appear, as some have commented. There's also a small thin magnet embedded to wake the iPad when removing it from the case. A nice touch in an otherwise simple dime-a-dozen leather sleeve. Overall, if you're looking to buy a quality leather sleeve with minimal bulk, I would highly recommend this Sena case.
