Okay, I've been using the iPad 3 Army Green (not Hideaway) case for about a year and a half, and the Hideaway for the iPad Air for about 2 hours now. I thought I'd post some initial impressions:1) Despite what Gumdrop's customer support said when I asked if the two mic holes are uncovered, one is in fact covered.2) The home button on front is covered by the screen protector, which does not appear to inhibit its operation, though it does need to be pressed with intent.3) Despite what some reviews for the iPad Mini claimed, putting it on does not require multiple attempts (though in fairness that was a different case that is merely very similar). Also, my first impression of the screen protector was that even though it sits much more flush against the screen, it does feel a little tacky, that doesn't appear to actually be the case after some use. Also, the colours are quite vibrant, whereas with the 3rd Gen it dulled them significantly. The cut outs (compared to the iPad 3 case) are much better and because of their edges (which are now molded), don't look like they will tear and the cut out for the screen lock / mute switch is (together with the better positioning on the iPad) much more accessible. Similarly the volume button are responsive. The top power button, just as the home button, needs some force to activate though my initial thoughts are that this is arguable for the best: on the older case I'd occasionally press either button unintentionally, my initial thoughts are that this is fine. I use the multi touch gestures so I don't need the home button much, and I'd rather not press the top button by mistake. So far it's working out fine.Read more ›

LOVE THIS CASE!!!! the models for the older Ipads got middling reviews- perhaps this is a vast improvement. The case fits snugly, is easy to get on and provides loads of protection without being heavy. as good protection as the otterbox case (for regular daily use) but much lower profile. Love the blue color. outer case with textured good grip- not an annoying sticky grip like a skin case. the stand in the back is the best feature. it is magnetic and snaps into place.

Bought this so that our 2 1/2 year old and our 17 month old could safely use the iPad air without us worrying too much about it being broken. Like other reviews, the home button is difficult to push while in the case, but my 2 1/2 year old could figure it out and push it, so I think others should be able to as well.

The hideaway would have been great if it came in as gumdrop has been advertising with their pictures but instead The hideaway is missing the rear mic hole and the Home Button is covered by the screen protector making it impossible to use.

We decided to buy this case because we love the other Gumdrop cases we have. The stand works nicely, and we love the color. The material on this particular case doesn't have as much traction as the previous material. It is slightly less grippy. The back and sides seem thinner too, and less substantial than the previous cases. The corners still seem well protected.

Just received it today. Put it on and it fits perfectly. There is a hole for the mic in the back. Yes the home button is covered by the screen and does not have a button over it like the previous models. However, mine came with a extra circular piece of plastic that that was glued under the screen that sits over the home button to add that extra "depth" to help push the home button. It works perfectly. Not sure if I can take a picture of it and post it to show what I mean. Maybe it's Gumdrop's way of compromising with the issue. I think this case has more "rubber" thickness than the Otterbox defender for the ipad air and is almost half the price. The stand works great too. I recommend this case!!!

Cons: Item came with adhesive stuck to screen protector portion so overall that skewed my feelings on quality control. Home button design seems like an afterthought as you have to press through the screen protector to press the indented home button. No pad on the back to prevent iPad from scratching.Pros: Power and headphones flaps leave plenty of room for connectors so that's a plus. Kick stands are well designed and constructed. Overall construction is good and rivals that of an Otterbox. Decent color options and an interesting design is what swayed me.

I bought this item as an open box and found out later that they only send out the "old style" cr$ppy design with the horrible home button. The new style on the other hand is probably awesome
