Last backpack ill ever buy.alex infantino
When this backpack arrived in the mail, i found it packed in a box surrounded by protective Styrofoam peanuts, not it needed to be. This thing is a freakin tank! It is made of an extremely durable fabric that beads water right off (Tested myself). the zipper is far more sturdy than the cheap plastic ones on backpacks that I have owned in the past. When you put it on, you feel the squishy-not unlike memory foam straps on your shoulders and the comfortable yet hard back press against you. I have an ipad 3 and the thing fits great into the soft velvety case made for it, even with a bulky case i would imagine. The ipad is also protected by a VERY durable Polystyrene plate in the front, witch looks good too.When i first bought this, I was interested to see how much room there was in the main compartment of the backpack. In it I found a laptop compartment that fits a 15", and when i put some of my old textbooks in it,i found it can hold up to 7" in books.Overall, this a great buy. It will last your entire life and if it does break on you, Pelican will replace it NO MATTER WHAT! (Just look on their website for proof.)

The U145 definitely exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a good compact backpack to use for school that would also provide protection for my 12" convertible ultra book. The ergonomics are great, the backpack does not move or feel awkward while walking or even running! The protective plate as seen on the front and ridged sides give great protection to electronics. The front pouch behind that protective plate is large enough to accommodate a 10" tablet but not my 12" Dell XPS 12 ultra book convertible. Inside the main compartment there is a elastic pouch against the back part of the bag which accommodates my ultra book and its sleeve perfectly, and in my opinion is better protected than the front pouch anyways. Finally, this backpack is EXTREMELY WATERPROOF! On the second day of using it I was caught in a downpour a mile from my car and backpack filled with 2 large texts, 2 notebooks, 2 calculators, my smartphone and ultra book, after that mile jog to my car I examined the contents of my bag and there wasn't a drop of water on anything!!

I have been traveling lighter these days, and I was never one to really travel heavy in the first place.I'll just say what I fit on my last flight from Afghanistan to the US: 11.6 inch laptop (Eurocom Monster); two Dickie's work shirts and one pair of slacks; two changes of underclothing; 7 inch tablet in a case; a two inch thick soft cover book; a small tub/jar, with all my cables; and two WD Passports.This bag has a 2 wide by 3 tall MOLLE section, which I used to attach a water bottle pouch, so that I could carry my power supply and a few other things externally on the bag. The included "water bottle pocket" isn't very confidence inspiring, but it's a great pocket for my medications; I was able to stuff both my inhalers, a couple NyQuil tablet sheets and my keys in there with no problem.Overall a great bag. It slides under the tightest of seats and the handle makes it a breeze to pick up. The back section is fairly rigid, so it rides nice and high on your back with minimal pressure points. I'm 5'11" and had no issues with it fitting strangely.

I can't say this is the best design backpack of ever seen or ever used but it does come with a lifetime warranty.It has a nice strong handle for carrying like luggage but lacks place to fold the straps when you're carrying it like many other high quality backpacks feature.I do not trust the tablet storage compartment to protect my tablet even with its armor on the back but fortunately there is a pocket for laptops on the inside that's better protectedPro: strong fits well on the back ( personal opinion ) armoredCon: two pockets for peripherals SIX pockets for pens !?!?!? ( not counting the armored tablet slot or rear laptop slot )
