The Belkin MultiTasker Pro is one of those items that is such a great idea but fails on execution. It is made out of a sturdy leather that feels like it will be up to the wear and tear required of a protective case and will probably age beautifully. The stitching used to hold the case together is thick and also very sturdy. The cover has a multi-texture surface, with pebbled leather on one side and smooth leather on the other, so it looks nice. Access to all of the buttons is easy.Inside, a plastic frame holds your iPad in place and it is super easy to snap the iPad in and out if you want to remove it. The frame extends away from the case so that you can position in the iPad in one of 5 different horizontal positions. The inside of the case is a soft, suede-like leather with two pockets for cards and an elastic clip for a pen or stylus. The different positions are held by placing the frame into one of several notches or by flipping the cover back and sliding it underneath the iPad. It is also extremely thin even when closed, thinner than many covers I have used, but most of that seems to be because the iPad 5 is so much thinner than my old iPad 2. As a professional cover, it is well made, good looking and useful. That's the good, now for the bad:The plastic frame is already starting to scratch the edges of my iPadIt is extremely heavy. That's fine if you aren't holding your case in your hand, but part of the charm of the iPad air is that it is super light. This pad totally negates that airiness.None of the positions that this case provides are good for typing or drawing on the iPad because they are all too vertical. If you occasionally use your iPad to type or draw in a meeting, and I do, you will need to lay it flat.Read more ›

This is a well-made case which would work well for a few folks. Here are the pros and cons:Pros:-Well made with real leather that feels and smells great. I wish I could get my car's leather seats back to smelling this good.-Has several detents to hold the iPad solidly in several angles all in the landscape orientation.-Has business card holders and a loop for carrying a stylus which are both features important to business users.-Affords good protection for your iPad Air.Cons:-Is quite heavy adding a good deal of weight to the iPad Air thus removing one of the reasons (lightness) that people want an iPad Air for.-Is thick. The iPad Air in the Apple leather case is a total of about a half inch (1.1 cm) thick where when in this case it's almost double that. Again, the thinness of the iPad Air is a feature people buy it for.-The auto shutoff doesn't work. This is baffling since auto shutoff has been a feature since the iPad Gen 2.-The case closes using a magnetic tab which, when the case is open, is a nuisance and sometimes gets in the way of thescreen.-The cover is very stiff to fold back which is an issue for those who'd wish to use their iPad like a book. It's a bit of a fight to get it folded back and hold it there. This makes reading an ebook hardly a relaxing experience unless you read on a table or your lap using the landscape hold detents. If you do the latter, this case works very well.In sum, this case may work well for the business user especially during travel. Its multiple landscape hold detents would make it ideal for, say, reading or viewing videos on an airplane fold down table or a motel room or at any table.Read more ›

This case seems well made and the natural leather gives it a classy, professional look. Sadly, it does not appear much thought went into the stylus holder. When a stylus is attached, the magnetic clasp that secures the cover fails to work because it is unable to reach the magnet. If you are interested in keeping a stylus attached, look elsewhere. If not, it is a nice, albeit expensive, case

UPDATE: I'm absolutely perplexed by the reviews that call this case heavy. I don't think any of those people have actually USED a folio case before. This is not an Apple "magic cover" type case. Non folio-type cases like that are gorgeous, lightweight, and utterly useless for hardcore tablet users. If you want a super-lightweight Apple-style case, then you're not going to be happy with this, or ANY, folio-style case. However, if you have used folio-cases before, and know what to expect from them, read on!I just upgraded from an iPad with Retina (iPad 4) to an iPad Air (iPad 5). I was using the Belkin Cinema Leather Folio Case with my old iPad, and had been really pleased with it. I was expecting something similar from this new case, but was unprepared for how much some small improvements would mean to me.For a folio-style case, this Belkin MultTasker is LIGHT. One of the benefits of the iPad Air is a reduction in size / weight, but I figured I wouldn't really feel anything since I'd be putting it into a multi-mode leather folio case. Wrong! Belkin has done an amazing job making a case of this type (leather / folio / multi-position) as lightweight as possible.Belkin built this case with *just enough* material to be as functional as my old Cinema folio, and not an ounce more. Notably, the iPad is held in place by a plastic rigging that leaves a LOT of the back side of the iPad open to the air. This is going to make a HUGE difference dissipating heat during long sessions with games like Infinity Blade and X-COM. Plus, you get to touch more of the iPad then you did with the Cinema, which is great since part of what makes Apple products desirable is the "delicious" way they feel.Read more ›
