**Updated Info**I've had the case 14 months now and guess what? One of my children slammed the tablet as hard as she could on the counter. No, the case didn't protect the screen from shattering into a zillion pieces. :( BUT - the tablet has been dropped and banged and roughly handled so much, I still think it is worth the $$! It took a full force teen with a temper to damage the tablet! One thing I wish is that the case was a bit more dust proof. Sticky nasty fingerprints wipe right off, but the dusty stuff sometimes gets stuck under the screen. Overall I am pleased with the longevity and durability of the case.*Original Review*Great protective cover. 2 super duty locking pieces deter even my Autistic masterminds from dis-assembling this handy case. Unlike "screen protectors" this case has an actual form fit front piece that wraps around the front of the Tab and BEHIND the back cover (young fingers don't 'pick' at the protector edges). Adds quite a bit of weight, but that was a plus for my children as they are much more careful with it because it's heavier. It isn't waterproof or dust-proof, but a bit of juice spilled on this case is much more likely to get wiped up safely and less likely to ruin the $300 Galaxy Tablet! All outlets are encased with precise custom fit tabs (sturdy, won't rip off) , as well as the buttons. The buttons are less likely to get accidentally pushed by careless fingers because the case makes the buttons 'stiffer'. Any average adult can still easily turn the unit off/on & turn the volume up/down with ease. If you've got a gaggle of children like me, or if you're a construction worker hefting your Galaxy Tab 2 in the cab between dusty sites, you'll be impressed at this TOTALLY WORTH IT case! (mom of a 3 yr, 5 yr, 6 yr, 8 yr, 10 yr, 13 yr and 15 year old).
Great for a rugged case, but adds limitationsChris
I got this case so the kids would not destroy the tablet. The case offers great protection, but it cover the IR sensor and also covers the memory card slot. So if you plan on switching out the memory or using it to control your TV then I would look else where, this is not a case for you. If you do not use the IR sensor or you have a memory card that you do not want to switch out then this case is for you.

Gumdrop case is excellent! The case is good looking, extremely protective, fits tight and isn't too bulky. The protective screen is very clear and doesn't interfere with the touch screen. I strongly recommend this product.

This truly is a well made case for the Galaxy Samsung Tab 2 10.1, but there are some notable flaws in it's manufacture.First, the positives: 1) It fits the Tab 2 10.1 perfectly, with all four corners protected by quite a bit of material 2) The port covers are very sturdy and should last a very long time 3) The built in screensaver is not only durable, but replaceable 4) Lastly, this is built with extremely high standards, using what feel to be high grade rubber and plasticNow, the negatives: 1) The micro SD card slot AND the IR blaster are covered by the case with no access to either 2) The screensaver shows every stinking fingerprint 3) It seems a little priceyI can fix the IR blaster issue with a drill for the internal plastic case and a metal tube punch through the rubber case up top. However, the micro SD slot is not so easily remedied. Given the careful design of the other ports and covers, it really seems odd that this was not addressed, until you realize that this was a product that was more than likely designed for the original Galaxy Tab 10.1. While the website states that there are differences between the Tab 10.1 and the Tab 2 10.1 versions of the Gumdrop Drop Tech Series cases (as well as a $20 price hike for the latter), I am really not sure. I have no experience with the first gen of Tab 10.1, so take that assumption with a grain of salt. Still, I wonder...... Cleaning the screen with a micro fiber cloth regularly fixes the second negative. Last, but not least, you do indeed pay for what you get, and when compared to the competition, this case is not as expensive, especially for how well made it is.Bottom line, I believe that this case is the best cost AND quality alternative to the competition, and, with some minor tweaking, it could truly be the best case out there, period.

Makes the tablet feel more secure and less fragile. I love how the the pyramid shapes in the back add to being able to hold it easily. I have no problem selecting or swiping with the protective screen in place. Great investment for my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.

Seems like they are back ordered. The few that we have are working better than Otterbox. We have a lot of branches using them in the field and they hold up great!

It looks like bulletproof. Of course it handles the frequent abuse from my kids, only downside was its too expensive. But its worth it.
