10/27/13I purchased this case for the family IPAD for the use with two kids under 3. It is built well, easy to use and really helps protect the IPAD. It does add weight but for what we are protecting it from thats a small trade off. I like the covers for the mic and camera that swivel. great idea. We do keep the mic cover off though since we dont plan on fully immersing this IPAD any time soon.I do not like the stand. it works for most uses but the minute little hands get ahold of the pad its useless. Nothing a cheap photo frame holder cannot fix. I do find it a bit more difficult to run airplay by the slid from the bottom when already in most apps due to it interfearing with said apps menu but we avoid that by starting airplay before any app is ran. more than likely thats common with most hard cases. The buttons are well designed for the volume, power act and the 30 pin protector flap i feel so far is superior to others. Only gets 4 stars because it is heavy for most peoples uses, and the stand is pretty weak. was a good thought for its set up and storage but not great for kids use.

I purchased this two+ years ago, the same day I purchased my ipad. After two years of constant daily use, my ipad looks brand new, no scratches, no dents, no wear ... perfect ... right out of the box perfect. My son is autistic and dropped this numerous times on concrete, patios, tile floors, hardwood floors .... it fell off countertops, fell out of his tree house, fell down the stairs multiple times ... AND ... like I said .... it's still at 100% perfection!! Durable, Strong, Reliable, Heavy-Duty, Amazing, Extreme Protection!!!!

Bought this on sale for my IPad 2.Watch the pieces when you take apart the case to insert an IPad. There is a plastic frame inside that snaps onto the IPad, but it's not obvious which way the plastic frame and silicone goes on. I put the whole thing on wrong and it looked fine initially, fits well even when on incorrectly. The instructions had a few small drawings that didn't show much of the plastic frame inside. I really had to work the red silicone around the IPad, it has to line up perfectly for the IPad buttons to be in the right place. Once on the fit is nice and snug.The case is definitely heavy, but at least I can set my IPad down on a table and be sure it won't go skidding off. A couple of small downsides, the silicone covers the volume bar, it's designed so to press the silicone over the bar to work the volume. It works, but I would have rather they left the bar open at that spot. Also, the pin connector for the AC cord is covered, you have to lift out a flap of the silicone to get to it. Again, more of a small annoyance, and you have to carefully remove your pin connector without pulling on the cord. If they had left the connection port open it would be easier, I suspect it's to prevent dirt in the connection.Finally, there doesn't seem to be a replacement screen protector for the case which is what will lead to the case becoming unusable if the screen protector gets scratched. You might want to put a film on top of the screen protector if you plan to keep the case for a long time.

My 16 month old, red headed granddaughter is nicknamed Chili Pepper. Your survivor case is what I was looking for to protect my ipad. Chili Pepper has her own Apps and knows how to find them. She does not have the fine motor skills that I would like when she handles my ipad.Thanks to you, my ipad is now Chili Pepper proof.

This was a defective griffin that had been returned to the store with a camera cover part that kept falling off. It still had the sticker from the store on the back. It should have been destroyed rather than resold! Buyer Beware!Update: My wife and I bought 2 new griffins from other sources and we both love them. they seal all the way around the screen if installed properly and are great! Make sure you get an original OEM Griffin Survivor, not a cheap counterfeit.

Price was right, but it's hard to tell if it's a real Griffin product or a Chinese imitation. It looks like the real thing, but the packaging didn't quite match photos on Griffin's website or other vendor sites.

This generation of the survivor case is so much better than the original. It is so much thinner and lighter but with the same great protection.
