Description
Ridiculously over-engineered? Or the perfect case for your iPad, no matter where you're headed? We think it's a little bit of both. Simply put, the Griffin Survivor Case is the most protective case we've ever built. Tested and certified to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F, Griffin's Survivor Extreme-Duty Case is designed from the inside out to protect your iPad from extreme conditions... dirt, sand, rain, shock, vibration, and a host of other environmental factors. Survivor is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in rugged, shock absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals your Multi-Touch display from the outside environment, while hinged plugs seal the dock connector, headphone port, hold switch, camera, and volume controls. Survivor is independently tested and verified to meet or exceed environmental testing standards for blown rain, blown dust and grit, vibration, shock, temperature and humidity.

When I received this item the screen cover was scratched. I contacted Griffin Technology regarding a replacement screen and after sending several pictures of the case and the packaging I was informed by Griffin that this item was not manufactured by them. This case is not a Griffin Survivor case, it is counterfeit.

This product is a nice product. It seems to be protecting my iPad well so far. Here are the things I wish they would improve. First......I have to remove this case anytime I use my camera connection kit. Since the case is a bit of a pain to take on & off it is a problem. Also I am doing this in a class full of pre-k students which I am not excited about having to remove the case in this scenario. Second.....the stand technically fits both long sides on the tablet. However, I can only use it on one side because it interferes with the volume buttons & keeps my tablet muted. Several other information tidbits.....the screen is not as touch sensitive as my Zagg screen was. I have to tap the links/keys harder to get them to respond (this is not that bad though. I can live with that easy enough). As others mentioned I do have an uneven screen area where part of the case screen sticks to my iPad screen & part does not. The case does add weight to the iPad also but I actually like that. It's a little bulky again not bad. I like the extra bulk because it makes hanging onto the iPad easier. Hope this review is helpful!

It's not as sturdy as I thought it would be. The black rubber parts break off & the screen saver came with smudges in them that won't come off.

our school has 150 of these over the 2.5 years we've had them NOT ONE BROKEN ANYTHING these are now the new standard for our school and kids (elementary school) they have done so well we are able to lengthen the use of our iPad 2 an additional yearreplacement of case and iPad in 4 year cycle. WOW would not have guessed thatwe have to pinch every penny, and these even impressed our most hardened IT skeptic. the fact that he has suggested extending the product cycle another year is spectacular newsgreat great investment. impressive
