While most people picking up this item will be teachers and professors who are looking to give presentations to their classes, I actually took a shot in the dark on this item for a completely different reason. I'm a self-taught guitar player who watches a lot of youtube videos and checks out a lot of tabs on how to play songs. It can be quite awkward at times sitting on my couch trying to watch videos on my laptop as the guitar often gets in the way of being able to get close enough to read the chords and tabs on my laptop screen. With this stand, I can now now put my tablet either at eye level on top of my fireplace mantle or at seated level on my living room table and follow along to the youtube videos I watch while learning new songs. The difference in my playing has been massive and I've been able to pick up new songs way quicker now as a result. The quality of the stand overall isn't amazing, but its good enough that I feel secure leaving my $300 tablet perched upon it. Set-up was quick and easy, and the base has some solid weight to it to give you additional peace of mind that your investment is safe. I am taking off one star because in my opinion, they got the price-point wrong on this item. If they lowered it to $99.99, I could see a lot more people giving it a chance. Most teachers of the world don't have $200 to drop on a luxury item like this, so hopefully Belkin addresses this and adjusts the price accordingly.

The iPad is a versatile device, there is not question about that. For instance, it can be used to take pictures or record video. An iPad can be used to compose music, browse the web, write a blog post, or create a multimedia presentation. It already replaces a number of separate devices that we used to rely on for just these tasks, so the notion of adding yet another use - an iPad document camera - does not take too much additional imagination. WWWWWWWHHHHAAAATTTTTYUP I said it an iPad document camera. In comes the Belkin Tablet Stage Stand for Presenters and Lecturers for tablets. It's not one of the cheaper options, but it is very well made and does exactly what you would expect it to do. It is not made specifically for the iPad, but it will fit full-size iPads. It is height adjustable and the arm rotates in all directions. It also comes with a detachable LED light that can help illuminate what you are trying to show. The Tablet Stage lets you use your tablet to deliver interactive presentations to your classroom or lecture. Adjustable tabs hold your tablet securely above the staging area, while a rotating arm allows you to position the tablet vertically or horizontally. The stage also lets you capture pictures and video in real-time. Setup is a breeze. To set up your presentation, simply position a textbook, worksheet, or other object on the stage and adjust the LED to illuminate the work area. Using your tablet's camera and the Belkin Stage™ app, the Tablet Stage captures and projects images or live video of your presentation, making it easy for students to follow along. Connect your tablet to a projector, monitor, or HDTV to display your lesson on a larger screen.Bottom line, if you present anything using your iPad professionally, this is a must have. It make your presentation much more professional and keeps your tablet safe from falling or getting bumped. Take a look, its worth it.

Measuring 15.4" x 13" x 16.4" and weighing just over 10 lbs, the Belkin tablet stage is a much needed improvement for teachers, corporate trainers, etc. to easily present materials to a group or record activities to include within online training modules. Personally, I use the Belkin tablet stage for the latter - and it has been working great for me!First, please be aware that the companion app, 'Belkin Stage' is only for iOS devices and cannot be found in the Google Play or Amazon App stores. The Belkin tablet stage may be used with most (if not all) 7" to 11" tablets regardless of the manufacturer. However, without the companion app, the overall value and usefulness of the product is diminished, in my opinion.Assembly is very easy. Some assembly is required. The tablet stage comes in three pieces, a base, a post and arm, and a tablet cradle. The parts are attached using four screws and takes less than 5 minutes to assemble. There is a large, heavy metal plate under the base that keeps the tablet stage relatively steady when you are pressing on the tablet while in the cradle. However, at times I do find myself having to be much more aware of how hard I am pressing to not move the tablet too much and disrupt the presentation or recording. If you have a heavy hand or tend to press down hard when using your tablet, you may find that the tablet stage's arm moves a lot while in use. Again, i was able to adjust the amount of pressure I used when using the tablet while still writing comfortably. However, you may feel differently.A cool and much needed feature of the Belkin tablet stage is the LED light. It clips onto the arm and helps brighten the presentation surface when the rooms lights are dimmed.Read more ›

I was definitely stoked to find this Belkin Stand for doing lectures, and from the look of it, it completely appeared to be everything I needed. However, after receiving the device, I can fully say that some areas really needed more work.Upon opening the package, there are multiple parts embedded in a nice foam packaging (no static clinging peanuts, or air filled bubble wrap here), and while the pieces did look a little bit formidable at first, it was truly nothing to put together once all the pieces were out and ready to be assembled. Basically it's a breeze to put together, as you have the pole that attaches to the base, the light, which needs the batteries inserted, the attachment for the light to the pole, the actual base for the stand, the base for the tablet to rest on, and the arm extender that attaches under the base of the tablet, and six screws. All you need is a Philips screwdriver, and you're good to go! Simply insert the pole into the base, flip it over, and screw in the four screws, which went in very easily, with no trouble whatsoever. After that's done flip it back over, and take the tablet area, flip it over, and pop on the extender arm. This has one long screw, and I will say I did have a little trouble with this in trying to get it on correctly as you have to align the little spacer just so in order for it to securely be placed on the back of the tablet stand so it can be screwed on. After that is done, I placed the extender arm (with attached tablet stand) into the arm on the pole, and screwed that in with the last screw. Easy as can be! The last part is to put the batteries in the light, slip it onto the little attachment, and slip that onto the pole, and it's all done!Read more ›
