It's a great leather folio because it has a zipper, AND you can put an "ultrathin" keyboard of your choice into the padfolio, such as a Zagg or a Logitech! I've tried putting one of these keyboards into this padfolio without any problems. It's a snug fit but one can easily zip the case shut. Your iPad fits snuggly into a harness. You close a satin like materail over the Ipad harness and place your keyboard face down under the cover, close the padfolio and zip it shut. The flaws are the sleep/awake magnet is too weak to automatically turn the iPad on/off. The solution is to go to a hobby/craft store and buy a stronger and bigger magnet about the size of a penny for $1.00. Place it over the cover's magnet and test it. If you are satisfied, tape it to the cover with double sided tape. The other flaw is there is no hole in the cover below the iPad harness for the Ipad camera lens to peep out of so you can take a video or photo without completely removing the Ipad from the padfolio. My solution was to cut a hole about the size of a dime in the cover with a hollow punch set and cover the hole with a bronze grommet. One could sew the edges of the hole too.Why bother you may ask. There are no other leather cases out there with a zipper that are close to the size of an iPad and that can hold both an iPad and a very thin keyboard like a Zagg or an ultrathin Logitech.I've contacted the Solo people in NYC so maybe soon they'll make the changes that I have suggested. Meanwhile buy this "padfolio" as it is a great case to hold your iPad, a thin keyboard as well as business cards, credit cards, pen and some paper.

It is a great idea to have a "padfolio" that can store a few necessities in one 'spot' - business cards, pens, stylus, paper notes and of course the iPad. When they named this "vintage collection" - they meant it - the leather has an aged look and while classy, it provides an overall dull look. The Velcro-based positioning doesn't come across as sturdy, the strips could cause minor scratches to the screen, and the performance of the magnet for sleep/on is inconsistent. Overall, for the advertised price, its price/value is questionable.

This is a well made product that meets the needs of those of us who still want to have pen and paper handy. It's a little heavy to carry in a tote or handbag, but is perfect if you use it as a single, comprehensive organizer & iPad cover.

This is better than the previous iPad cover I reviewed, but it's still not quite what I'm looking for. The quality is wonderful - soft leather, classy design, with a five year warranty on materials and workmanship. The design is nice for those who need extra room for jotting notes and carrying papers. It has an included notepad, a place to store a pen, and several pockets to hold papers and business cards. It's easy to prop up, and it stays in place once you do. It's a little too bulky for those who want to carry it in a day bag or messenger bag, but that's not what it's designed for. The magnetic wake/sleep feature didn't work, but that's really a non-issue for me. I tested the fit on an original iPad and if I was going to rate it on that, I would give it 5 stars because the design doesn't block any ports or features. It does block the back camera on the latest generation iPad, though, and that's what holds me back from giving it a full 5 stars. I hope SOLO considers redesigning this case so it doesn't decrease functionality.

Works super good, have all items in one portfolio, shut off doesn't seem to work each time, but I'm used to shutting it manually.

I purchased this product not knowing what to expect. I can tell you that it is a highlquality made product and is everything I wanted in a padfolio. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a compact IPad zippered case that has room for paper, a pen along with business card slots and additional paper storage.

I carefully researched a lot of these padfolio/iPad cases for my first generation iPad (packaging says it also fits iPad 2/3/4). This one appealed to me because-it's genuine leather and has a very nice, professional appearance-the off-color stiching gives it a modern look-it's got a little notepad for jotting down quick notes-pen slot for my stylus/pen, business card slot, and place for some loose papers. The quality of the leather appears to be very high and it has a nice soft feel in your hands, like the seats of a fine German car. The zipper also seems to be good quality and I expect it will hold up well over time. The well-thought design allows you to position the flap so the notepad is either behind or in front of the iPad depending on which one you'll use more often. I'm not entirely fond of the velcro strip on the inside that allows you to have the screen on an angle for viewing movies etc, but it's very unobtrusive and seems to serve its purpose well. I don't think the magnet automatically shuts off the iPad, but I've always just hit the button on the top when I'm finished with it so that's not an issue for me.I'm a Realtor and carry my iPad around almost all day. This case has definitely met, and exceeded, my expectations. For the price, I'm seriously considering picking up another one to put in a drawer for the day when this one eventually wears out. I highly recommend giving this one a shot!
